We are excited to announce that we will have kits for the Jane Austen 250th Anniversary Block of the Month designed by Lori Holt of Bee in my Bonnet!

These kits will include all the fabric you need for the quilt top and binding, special Sew Simple Shapes templates for the beautiful sampler-esque floral motifs, and a surprise gift! The Block of the Month will be led virtually by the talented Lori Holt. 

This is an English frame quilt with a central motif and multiple borders. The centre medallion features a large appliqued floral motif and the borders alternate between patchwork and smaller appliqued flowers!

This quilt is a glorious opportunity to celebrate Jane Austen’s life and works as a woman, writer, and quilter! This quilt kit includes 47 different fabrics. Many of the fabrics in the kit are reproductions of fabrics used in the original coverlet quilt made by Jane Austen, her mother, and sister in the 1810s. A few of the fabrics are designed by Riley Blake specifically for their Emma collection.  The store will be selling a coordinating wideback called “Accomplished Woman”, featuring music and letters written by Austen later this summer. 

Riley Blake has been reproducing the fabrics from the Jane Austen coverlet quilt since 2020 and has since released collections celebrating Sense & Sensibility, Pride & Prejudice, Mansfield Park, and Emma. Each reproduction print is named after a character in one of Austen’s novels! This is an opportunity to stitch up a beautiful quilt with beautiful regency prints named after your favourite characters from each of her novels.

This quilt will be an homage not just to Jane Austen, but to your skills in quilting and applique and will be an amazing addition to your home. Perfect to cuddle up under while you read one of her novels or watch an adaptation of her work!
