The Heavy Weight presser foot has a larger "foot print" that assures better contact of the fabric to the feed dogs. Therefore it can be used to aid in the proper feed of canvas, fake fur, lace or quilted fabric beautifully without applying extra or excessive pressure to the presser bar and on to the fabric.
